2020 is already unlike anything we've experienced before for so many reasons. May through October is still the best time to stay in the Cabin. This year, getting off to a slow start because of the pandemic, and then heavy flooding in June make things feel a little shaky. Even with some washed away streambank, very thick and lush vegetation, and local restaurants just reopening you can still enjoy complete solitude and seclusion. UNPLUG, and reconnect with what's important.

The cabin at Sycamore Bend is on an old farm in Bath County, Virginia looking out over woods, fields and the Cowpasture River. The McGuire Reagan family live in a nearby farmhouse. We are in the process of improving great walking trails throughout the surrounding land. The farm is adjacent to the George Washington National Forest which also offers unlimited hiking and exploration. It is an ideal setting for birding, wildflower walks and wildlife viewing. The Cowpasture offers fine fishing, as do the nearby Jackson River and Lake Moomaw. The villages of Warms Springs, Hot Springs, and Monterey in Highland County, welcome visitors to their restaurants and shops, many of which feature food and crafts made locally.
